Fridays Featured Song - "Love Drunk" - Boys Like Girls

Here's a song I heard several months back and never caught the name of the band - Turns out it was Boys Like Girls with "Love Drunk" with a cool uptempo pop tune. This was the first single from their latest CD of the same name that was released in fall 2009. "Love Drunk" the song went to #22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and like so many other recent songs it gives me faith that pop music is on its way back (you know songs you can hear just one time and remember exactly how it goes). Boys Like Girls has another single climbing the charts right now called "Two is Better Than One" - a slower, softer mix with a heavenly chorus that really gets your attention. We'll definitely be featuring that song soon before we hit Valentines.

Manilow on Conan - Last night darn I missed it!!

Turns out Barry Manilow was the musical guest on the next to last Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Somehow I missed the memo and didn't realize so I missed it (and a search of YouTube has yet to appear which is surprising). Sounds like Barry has a new CD coming out this month called "The Greatest Love Songs of All Time" - I guess after he did the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80's he didnt' want to tackle the grunge 90's song catalog so he went for a wider selection. Look for a review of this new Barry album here sometime in February.
