Thirty-two years ago Michael Johnson took this very wistful song entitled "Bluer Than Blue" to #12 on the Billboard Pop Chart and #1 on the AC Chart. The song talks about how great life is going to be now that his lover is gone - all the things he'll be able to do now....but truth be told he's feeling about as sad as he can be and "Bluer Than Blue" expresses it perfectly.
