RIP Teddy - The Sound of Philadelphia

News today that Teddy Pendergrass lost his battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 59. Teddy was one of the original love song singers and helped defined the Sound of Philadelphia back in the early-mid 70's. At the pinnacle of his career, Teddy's luck took a down turn in 1982 when he was paralyzed from the waste down in an auto accident. He eventually returned to music recording and performed live again including sellout shows in Atlantic City. Teddy you will surely be missed but you will live on through your music. One of Teddy's signature tunes was "If You Don't Know Me by Now" from his days singing lead with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes.
