Tribute to Martin Luther King Jr - "Pride (In the Name of Love)" by U2
There are many songs that give tribute to perhaps one of the greatest promoters of peace the world has ever known. Most of these songs never crossed over into the pop realm rising up the charts, with one notable exception "Pride (In the Name of Love)" by rock legends U2. A powerful anthemic song from the early 80's, Bono and crew hit the nail on the head with this song that still reverberates today in so many ways. It seems the message of peace brought forth by Dr. King and many others will never go out of style due to the constant war, strife and ethnic & racial conflicts both abroad and in the US. My hope is that some day there will be a more peaceful tomorrow where we can all say "remember when this message was so important - when we really needed it". Some day maybe we won't - when that happens the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will still live on but our world will certainly be a better place.
